A relaxed start, a clear plan and plenty of support
If you have never ridden off road before, it is normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves. At SR75 Off Road the aim is simple: a friendly, professional environment where you can build confidence, control and technique, with coaching tailored to your level. The day is structured for maximum riding time and steady progression, with small groups capped at six riders so you get meaningful feedback throughout.
Arrival and welcome
Your day begins at the welcome centre with introductions and a chance to ask questions before you ride. You will be allocated a bike for the day and the team will help you settle in, especially if it is your first time on loose surfaces. The experience takes place at a purpose-built off-road facility in South Wales.
Kit: what you need and what’s provided
Your booking includes the use of a specially prepared Suzuki off-road motorcycle, professional instruction and structured riding sessions. You will need to bring suitable riding gear, including a helmet, protective clothing and appropriate boots. If you are unsure what counts as “suitable”, check the joining instructions and get in touch for practical advice before you travel.
Safety briefing: how we keep it calm and controlled
Before any riding begins, everyone attends a safety briefing. You will be asked to declare any relevant medical conditions and the instructors will talk through key safety rules, how the day will run and how to ride considerately within the group. Safety is the priority all day, and you will be encouraged to ride at your own pace while following instructor guidance.
First drills: building the foundations
The early sessions focus on confidence and control. Expect clear demonstrations, simple drills and constructive feedback to help you feel stable on the bike. This is where you get comfortable with the basics that make off-road riding feel easier: balanced body position, smooth throttle use, controlled braking and looking where you want to go.
Progression that matches your level
Coaching is adapted to your experience, whether you are completely new or returning to off-road riding after a long break. You will repeat key drills until they feel natural, then start linking them together as your confidence grows.
Terrain and technique: bringing it to life
Once the fundamentals are in place, you will apply them across varied terrain. The bikes are chosen to be confidence-inspiring, and you may ride models such as the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE or DR-Z4S, prepared specifically for the experience. As the day progresses, you will take on slightly more challenging sections, always with guidance and the option to keep it simple if you prefer.
Wrap-up: what you’ll take away
By the end of the day you should feel more relaxed on the bike, clearer on what to practise next and proud of the progress you have made. Many riders are surprised by how quickly they improve when the environment is supportive, the coaching is focused and the steps are broken down in a sensible way.
